Attending Lectures

Offline classes will be held at the respective branch for every student.

Online lectures will be conducted through Live Streaming. We will give the candidate access on The Prayas ePathshala portal where all the learning curriculum is well defined. S/he just needs to have a Laptop/Desktop/Tablet/Smart Phone and Internet Connection.

The PG-CLAT is designed to be a test of comprehension skills of the applicants.

CLAT Eligibility:

  1. No upper age limit
  2. Minimum marks in LL.B Degree or an equivalent examination must be:
    1. 50% marks (Gen / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI categories)
    2. 45% marks (SC / ST categories)
  3. Candidates appearing in the final year of qualifying examination are also eligible to appear in CLAT examination.
  4. In case of equal marks, the break of tie shall be by the following procedure and order as under:
    1. Higher age
    2. Computerised draw of lots.

Exam Pattern

Maximum Marks: 150
Duration: 2 Hrs
Sections: Two (Objective and Descriptive)

Section I

Maximum Marks: 100
No. of Questions: 100 questions (Multiple-Choice Questions)
Marking Scheme: +1 / -0.25
Qualifier: Min. 40% (35% in case of SC, ST, and PWD) score in the objective section is necessary for the evaluation of the candidate’s answers in the descriptive section

Section II

Maximum Marks: 50
Questions: Two Essay type questions each of 25 Marks

Objective Section

  1. Passages derived from primary legal materials such as important court decisions in various fields of law, statutes or regulations
  2. Questions based on –
    • Ability to read and comprehend the issues discussed
    • Ability to understand any arguments and viewpoints discussed
    • Awareness of the issues discussed
    • Awareness of legal issues and facts related to / arising out of the passage and the judgment or statute from which it is extracted
    • Ability to summarise
    • Ability to apply knowledge of the fields of law discussed

Descriptive Section

  1. Essay writing (Answer any 2 questions from amongst the list of questions supplied)
  2. Word limit: 800 words each
  3. Assessment parameters:
    • Awareness of the legal, factual, and philosophical issues arising out of the questions the candidate chooses to answer
    • Ability to structure the answer, and clearly set out various arguments and perspectives related to the topic and to draw a conclusion based on these
