What is MAT Entrance Exam?

MAT Entrance Exam stands for Management Aptitude Test Entrance Exam. It is a national-level entrance exam conducted in India for admission to various postgraduate management programs such as MBA, PGDM, and similar courses offered by various B-schools (Business Schools) across India. The exam is conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) four times a year – in February, May, September, and December. The exam measures the candidate’s aptitude and analytical skills in various areas such as Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, and Indian and Global Environment.

Selection Process For MAT Entrance

Stage	Description
Stage 1: MAT Exam	Candidates have to appear for the MAT Entrance Exam and score the minimum qualifying marks as prescribed by the participating college.
Stage 2: Group Discussion (GD)	Candidates who have qualified for the MAT Entrance Exam have to appear for a Group Discussion round. In this round, a group of candidates is given a topic to discuss, and they are evaluated based on their communication skills, analytical skills, and ability to present their point of view.
Stage 3: Personal Interview (PI)	Candidates who clear the Group Discussion round are called for a Personal Interview. In this round, candidates are evaluated based on their overall personality, communication skills, leadership qualities, work experience (if any), academic background, and other factors.
Stage 4: Final Selection	The final selection is based on the candidate's performance in all the rounds. The weightage given to each round may vary from college to college. Some colleges may also consider past academic records and work experience in the final selection.
