The Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Mumbai invites applications from meritorious sportspersons for appointment to Group C posts through sports quota. Notification No. Pr.CCIT/Mum/Personnel/Sports Recruitment/2025-26 was issued on 7 January 2026. Applications must be submitted online only by 31 January 2026.

Selection Criteria (DoPT Order of Preference)
Selection follows Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) OM No. 14034/1/95-Estt.(D) dated 04.05.1995 and OM No. 1720781414772 dated 04.03.2024:
- First Preference: Represented India in an international competition with the Department of Sports clearance
- Second Preference: State/U.T. representation in Senior/Junior National Championships organized by recognized National Sports Federations (medals/positions up to 3rd place)
- Third Preference: University representation in Inter-University competitions or Khelo India University Games (medals up to 3rd place)
- Fourth Preference: Khelo India Youth Games (age above 18 years), Khelo India Winter Games, Khelo India Para Games (medals up to 3rd place)
- Fifth Preference: State Schools representation in National Sports/Games for Schools (medals up to 3rd place)
- Sixth Preference: Participation without medals (in same order of preference)
Tie-breaking rules: Higher position, multiple medals given preference.

Mandatory Sports Certificates
Candidates must submit at least one certificate from DoPT-recognized authorities in the prescribed formats:
- Form 1: International Competition representation (National Federation)
- Form 2: National/State Championship representation (State Association)
- Form 3: Inter-University Tournament (University authorities)
- Form 4: National School Games (Directorate of Public Instruction)
- Form 5: Khelo India Games representation

Selection Process
Stage 1: Screening based on sports achievements (DoPT preference order)

Stage 3: Skill tests (post-selection, pre-joining):

- Tax Assistant: Data Entry Skill Test (8000 KDPH)
