Karmyogis Mission

Concerning Mission Karmayogi:

  • In September 2020, the Indian government approved “Mission Karmayogi,” a fresh capacity-building initiative.
  • For its 46 lakh government workers, which includes officials and civilians at all levels, it is a National Programme for Civil Services Capacity Building (NPCSCB) programme.
  • It aims to create a civil service that is both in line with New India’s vision and resilient to the future.
  • Similar to the National Recruitment Agency, which was established last week, it is intended to be a thorough post-recruitment reform of the Center’s human resource development.
  • A total of Rs 510.86 crore would be set aside for this purpose over the course of five years, from 2020–2021 to 2024–2025.
  • On the iGOT-Karmayogi website, the Mission Karmayogi curriculum will be accessible.
  • The iGOT programme aims to increase the training facilities’ capacity and value for employees of the federal and state governments.
  • Harmonizing training standards, producing academics and resources that can be pooled, and exerting control over all Central Training Institutions are the objectives.
  • Giving government workers the skills they need to provide services effectively and to the highest standards is the main objective of this endeavour.

Important Elements of Mission Karmayogi:

  • A first step in bettering government practises in human resource management is Mission Karmayogi. It has these characteristics:
  • Assigning responsibilities to government personnel in accordance with their qualifications is the primary duty of human resource management (HRshift). The norm today is HR strategy focused on roles rather than regulations.
  • Mixing classroom and online learning It’s education acquired while working for the government.
  • The ecosystem of organisations, individuals, and shared learning resources requires civil employees to adapt.
  • All roles in the public sector must be calibrated using this process, which employs the Framework of Roles, Activities, and Competencies (FRACs) as a framework. The creation and distribution of all educational materials to all government entities will also follow this procedure.
  • Behavioral, functional, and domain skills should be developed by civil employees as a result of their self-directed and required learning.
  • All central ministries, departments, and their organisations must collaborate in order to create the shared environment. This strategy entails creating a learning ecosystem by charging each employee an annual subscription fee.
  • Collaboration with educational resource providers – This capacity-building plan will include participation from public training organisations, universities, start-ups, and independent specialists.
