The Combined Defence Services (CDS) examination, conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), is a national-level exam for candidates aspiring to join the Indian Armed Forces. Eligibility Criteria
A. Nationality
Candidates must be:
- A citizen of India, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Selection Process
The selection process includes:
- Written Examination – Candidates must clear the written test as per the cut-off decided by UPSC.
- SSB Interview – Candidates who qualify the written exam are called for the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview.
- Medical Examination – Candidates must meet the prescribed physical and medical standards.
- Final Merit List – The final selection is based on performance in the written exam and SSB interview.
