UPSC NDA Eligibility Criteria

A. Nationality

The applicant must be:

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Bhutan, or
  • A subject of Nepal, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated with the intention of permanently settling in India from
    • Pakistan
    • Burma
    • Sri Lanka
    • Kenya
    • Uganda
    • the United Republic of Tanzania
    • Zambia
    • Malawi
    • Zaire
    • Ethiopia
    • Vietnam

B. Educational Qualification

12th or Equivalent Examination.

C. Age Limit 

The candidate should have born

  • Not earlier than 02nd July 2003 and
  • Not later than 1st July 2006

D. Marital Status

Must be unmarried.

E. Physical Standards 

Candidates’ applications will be disqualified if they are not considered to be in good health or physically/medically fit as per the UPSC NDA guidelines. Some of the common issues that can result in the disqualification of the candidate are:

  1. Height and Weight Issue
  2. Dental Problems
  3. Vision and Eye Problems
  4. Hearing Aid
  5. Others

NDA Selection Process

The candidate has to undergo below mentioned steps:

  1. Written examination
  2. SSB examination (Intelligence and Personality Test)

The SSB stands for Service Selection Board. The written exam will consist of two papers i.e. Mathematics and General Ability Test. The SSB examination will also consist of two sections of selection.
