What is RBI Grade B?

Reserve Bank of India will soon release an official notification for the recruitment of RBI Grade Officers under various departments, namely, DSIM, DR, and DEPR RBI Grade B Syllabus 2023 is an extremely crucial milestone on the road to clearing the RBI Grade B exams. RBI Grade B Syllabus 2023 will help the aspirants know what the exam is about and start their preparations in the right direction.

Age Limit

21 to 30 Years (As of the 1st of January of the year of notification)

Educational Qualification

  1. Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – (General)
  2. Graduation in any discipline /Equivalent technical or professional qualification with minimum 60% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) or Post-Graduation
  3. Equivalent technical qualification with minimum 55% marks (pass marks for SC/ST/PwBD applicants) in aggregate of all semesters / years

  • UR Category – 06 Attempts
  • SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/EWSs – No Restriction

RBI Grade B Officer Exam Pattern

RBI Grade B officers are recruited through a 3 stage recruitment process –

  • Phase 1 Examination (Preliminary exam)
  • Phase 2 Examination (Mains exam)
  • Phase 3 Psychometric Test & Interview

  1. The Phase 1 examination or the preliminary examination is a single paper comprising 200 Questions and 200 Marks.
  2. The overall duration of this paper is 120 minutes i.e. 2 hours. Please note that there is sectional timing as well.
  3. There is a penalty of ¼ for wrong answers.
  4. Candidates need to secure separate cut-off in each section as well as clear the overall cut off to be shortlisted for
  5. Marks obtained in Phase I are used only for shortlisting the candidates for Phase II examination process and are not counted for final selection of the candidates.

Phase 3

The Phase-III of the RBI Grade B examination consists of a Psychometric Test followed by an Interview.

  • Candidates are required to undergo Psychometric Test before appearing for the Interview. It is qualifying in nature and no marks are allotted for it.
  • Candidates are shortlisted for interview based on their Phase 2 marks only (sum of all 3 papers)
  • Interview carries a weightage of 75 marks
  • Candidates can opt for interview either in Hindi or English
  • The final selection of candidates is done by adding marks secured in Phase 2 and Interview.
