What is SBI PO Exam?

SBI PO (State Bank of India Probationary Officer) exam is a competitive exam conducted by the State Bank of India to recruit eligible candidates for the position of Probationary Officer in its various branches across India. Age Limit

Educational Qualification

The candidate must have completed their graduation in any discipline from a recognized university or any equivalent qualification recognized by the central government.

Number of Attempts

The number of attempts for the SBI PO exam is limited to 4 for General category candidates, 7 for OBC category candidates, and unlimited for SC/ST/PwD category candidates.

  • The questions are of objective type (MCQs) except for the Descriptive Test.
  • Each objective question carries 1 mark and there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
  • The Descriptive Test is a written test conducted in English Language to test the candidates’ writing skills. The test carries 50 marks and the time duration is 30 minutes.
  • The candidates who qualify in the Mains exam will be eligible to appear for the Group Exercise and Interview.

Interview

Group Exercise: This stage involves group discussions and tasks to test the candidates’ communication and teamwork skills.

Interview: Candidates who clear the Group Exercise stage will be called for a personal interview. This stage aims to assess the candidates’ personality, communication skills, and ability to handle pressure.

Final Selection: The final selection is based on the performance in the Group Exercise and Interview stage. Candidates are selected based on their merit ranking and availability of vacancies.

Selection Process

The selection process for IBPS RRB comprises three stages – Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam, and Interview.
Candidates who clear the Preliminary Exam are eligible to appear for the Mains Exam. Candidates who clear the Mains Exam are called for the Interview round.
